Nellie was born in 1976 and is from the Pintupi mob of the Kintore region of the Northern Territory. She grew up around many of the great names in the Western Desert Art movement and as such has taken on their traditional stories but using her own more modern style. She paints stories associated with her Fathers Country and Tingari Dreaming as well as Water Dreaming at Kalipinypa, a large rockhole important to her mob.
