Not really a numbers guy thing but I find that when I buy stuff for cash I have already figured out my change and often give the cashier an odd amount like giving them $10.20 for a $9.70 sale so I get a 50cent piece as change.

Many try to give my back the coins and I get a lot odd looks when I insist they run it through the till.
